I’m Obsessed with ___.

Things are changing.

Things like the temperature, the leaves, and my general disposition.  This can only mean one thing: Autumn.

Oh dear sweet Lord.  From the time Fall sets in until Christmas, I am on top of the world.  I was made for this season – for jeans and cardigans and pretty scarves.  For mulled wine and coffee and gingerbread and pumpkin spice everything.  For baking and candlelighting and DIY decorating.

All of my normal Autumnal tendencies, coupled with my third trimester nesting hormones, mean I am on Autumnal overload.

Watch out, everybody.

And get ready for my obsessions over the next few weeks to totally reflect my Fall state of mind.

1. Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice.  This tea is very near the perfect beverage (maybe only second to mulled wine, which I’m sure will be covered in an upcoming edition).  I discovered this yummy goodness last Fall when Simon was working at Barnes and Noble, and I’d sit in the café and drink massive cups of it while I made googly eyes at him behind the Customer Service desk.

Now I keep a tin on my kitchen shelf, and feel all warm and fuzzy inside while I sip it neat – no milk or sugar required.

(ps- The link is an American website, but if you’re in the UK, I’m sure you can find it somewhere.  Or, email me and I’ll find it for you.)

2.  Cinnamon Sourdough Bread.

Oh dear God.

I made three loaves this weekend, and confession: this isn’t actually a photo of my bread – it disappeared before I could take a photo.  Mine is much prettier, if I do say so myself, and I make a sweet vanilla glaze to slather all over it.  Think ‘giant loaf of cinnamon roll.’

I die.

3. Pinecone anything.  I went on a pinecone hunt yesterday in my neighborhood and collected an entire Tesco bag full.  I’m about to get out some spray paint and go crazy.

(Pinecone garland and Pinecone pendants)

4. This paper airplane necklace by Alexa at foamywader.  How romantic.

5. These lovely Autumn photographs by Irene.

6. This end table made of books.  A novel idea.

7. Root Beer Float Cupcakes.

I don’t know where the heck to get root beer extract, especially in this country, but I like the sound of these babies.  Plus, look how cute they are!

8. Elsie Flannigan and her supercute blog.

Ohhh, lovely.

Happy Autumn, everybody!

  1. Ooh, I love all those things and I especially love that you got to use the word, “autumnal”, several times. Could I add pumpkin seeds to that list?
