Back Where We Met, Part II

I thought I’d share some more photos with you from our trip to Scarborough. Since I’m keeping you hanging on other stuff, the least I can do is show you some pictures, right?

My absolute favorite thing we did on this trip was taking a long walk around Scarborough, visiting all the places we used to hang out when we first met.  We pointed them out to Adlai too, but to be honest, I really don’t think he was that interested.

A café at the base of the castle.

The bench where we first confessed our feelings for each other…

overcast by the shadows of the little family born out of those feelings.

Outside my student house (the last light-colored one on the left).  It’s not looking so great these days.

Simon outside his student house.  Slightly more glamorous from the outside, but so, so skanky on the inside.

Back down the hill to the town centre and the harbour.

We totally didn’t know what a beautiful town we lived in while we were there as students.  I suppose we were distracted by all the hormones and essays, but Scarborough is a gorgeous place, and I love it even more for being the birthplace of my life as I know it.
