Dan + Catherine | a Peak District maternity session | Sheffield, UK

If you’ve been following me for a little while, you will know that my little sister is married to my husband’s brother. That’s right, folks. We are American sisters, married to English brothers.

We are not in a cult.

I just fell in love with Simon and got married, and then these two got together pretty much right after our wedding and got married. And now we all live in England with our babes: us, just north of London. Dan and Catherine, up north in Sheffield (which is, BTW, such an awesome city. You should go.)

Almost two years ago, these guys gave me the cutest niece in the world (Auntie Faith loves you, Eloise). And then, this past January, they gave us a little nephew named Owen.

If you’re keeping up, Eloise and Owen are my kids’ double-cousins. Adlai did a family tree at school this week and it was very confusing for him. ANYWAY.

Back before Christmas, I took some pictures of Dan and Catherine and Eloise before Owen arrived, and I haven’t shared them yet. So this is me doing that. They just happen to live like, 10 minutes from the Peak District, which is one of the most beautiful parts in England. V. handy for photographs.

That’s all. Here they are.

Also, just to repeat: not in a cult.

  1. As soon as I saw the photo, I thought, she must be your sister! But then I was confused how she would be in such an English landscape. How cool that sisters married brothers – cult excluded 😉
