“People smile and tell me I’m the lucky one,
And we’ve only just begun.
Think I’m gonna have a son.
He will be like she and me, as free as a dove,
Conceived in love.
Sun is gonna shine above.
And even though we ain’t got money,
I’m so in love with you, honey,
And everything will bring a chain of love.
And in the morning, when I rise,
You bring a tear of joy to my eyes
And tell me everything is gonna be alright.”

Guys, this session is so special to me. Meri is a good friend of mine who’s been supportive of me since I started my photography journey years ago. In fact, she was one of the first people to model for me, and y’all, I was bad. Really, really bad.
Thankfully, by the time Meri got pregnant with her first child, I’d improved greatly, and I was so happy to be able to take these photos of Meri and her husband Ben, first at home, and then at a field where they walk their dog, Buster.
I always love photographing people in places that are special to them. Places where they’re comfortable and happy – I always get the best pictures that way.
(And you know I care about Meri, because that song up there? That’s my song, so I wouldn’t use it for just anyone.)
