I’m Obsessed With ___.

Oh my golly.

As I write this, I have just returned from my first proper run since I was 12 weeks pregnant with Adlai (at which point I tried to run, felt like I was going to puke, and decided that was it for running).  I’m feeling pretty good – I probably ran a couple of miles – but I also feel like death and like my bed needs me in it, stat.

For that reason, I’m going to keep this short and sweet.

It’s good life advice.

Plus, Doogie said it, so you know it’s true.

And on that note, I’m going to go be awesome in my bed.

    Yes, yes, we are still totally with Doogie. Awesome! But the Oreo-brownie-cookie thing caught my eye!

    The dessert made me giggle. Now, if you frost that deliciousness with chocolate cream cheese icing, you’d really have something to cry about! I think I’ll try it and let you know.

    i made that dessert for father’s day. we served it with vanilla ice cream and homemade hot fudge on top. i’ll give you my full review tomorrow when i can hold my eye lids open with a little less effort. good job on the run!!!!

    i had forgotten about giving my cookie-brownie-deliciousness review. maybe someone cares so here you go. this is the review i gave my sister-in-law, who introduced me to the link with the recipe:

    it was good! easy to make; i went pretty much by the recipe, except i used semi sweet chocolate chips in the cookie layer, regular oreos–not double stuff, and i used 2 dark chocolate ghirardelli brownie mixes, and i almost always use self rising flour for stuff like this where it doesn’t matter instead of adding salt and baking soda to regular flour. (and really, i’m not sure if i used 2 or 2.5 cups of flour. i had a coughing fit while measuring, and when i became conscience of my baking again, i couldn’t remember if i had already measured 1 cup or 1.5, so i just added 1 more cup, and the dough seemed to have a good consistency.)

    it was a HUGE finished product. GIANT!! it rose about a half inch above the sides of my baking dish. my mom was helping dish it out, and she started cutting regular, generous brownie size pieces, and as soon as she put the first one in a bowl, we were all like NO WAY!!! (except my brother) so the rest of us had half a piece with ice cream and homemade hot fudge, and of course, my brother had a monster piece.

    it was super rich, and very tasty. and the novelty of the ridiculousness of it all was just as much fun. thankfully my family was happy to take some to their respective homes, because we did NOT need it hanging out around our house, staring at us with it’s sad chocolate chip eyes, begging to be eaten. jonathan and i each get two reasonable pieces. which is really about all i can handle of this dessert for now.
